Our Association was founded in 1977, with its seat in Nea Vyssa.
The Association takes its name in honour of the KARATHEODORIS lineage which, born in the old village of Bosna — today's Nea Vyssa — has produced distinguished figures of physicians, scientists and diplomats throughout the historical course of our country, culminating in the internationally renowned mathematician Constantin Carathéodory.
The association cares for two museums in Nea Vyssa — one tracing the Karatheodoris family, the other the folk life of Thracian Vyssa.
A family museum recounting five generations of the Carathéodorys — the mathematician Constantine among them — through original documents, donated artifacts, and interactive exhibits.
NOW OPENHoused in the historic Godosis family residence, it preserves the region's history and traditions through heirlooms, photographs and recreations of life as earlier generations knew it.
From children's circles to adult ensembles, preserving the rhythmic soul of Nea Vyssa through traditional movement.
